Chris was born in Philadelphia in 1967 -- the same year his beloved Flyers were born there -- and grew up in North Haven, Connecticut, the son of a New Haven lawyer appointed Connecticut Superior Court Judge. The elder Licari practiced during a time when being a lawyer was more an honored profession than a business, when lawyers were hired on recommendation and reputation and not on the flash of a marketing campaign. During over 30 years of practice in his home state, Chris has worked hard to build his own reputation true to this spirit. A thoroughly prepared, tireless and thoughtful caretaker of his clients, Chris has tried many cases in state and federal court with results other lawyers would boast about, but he places as much value in resolving many hundreds of other cases — small and large, some simple, some complex — without the need for trial. Attorney Licari has earned the respect of his peers, who have rated him as a Super Lawyer, selected him to serve as a private arbitrator, and serves as a court-appointed in the Superior Court for the State of Connecticut, Judicial District of New Haven.
Attorney Licari was a founding member and partner at Licari, Walsh & Sklaver, LLC, practicing law at his firm for twenty-four years. When his former partner, Gary Sklaver, retired in 2023, Chris joined Fasano, Ippolito, Lee & Florentine as a full-time attorney, while his other former partner, John M. Walsh, Jr., joined the firm as an of counsel attorney.
What Chris likes about being a lawyer: the unique challenges presented by each new case.
What bugs Chris as a lawyer: typos, lazy language, trite clichés and phrases du jure (the one currently in vogue being “I don’t disagree”). Words and language are the tools of a lawyer's craft, and Chris appreciates their proper utilization and application. Would you hire a carpenter whose hammer was broken, or go to a doctor whose stethoscope only had one earpiece?
Chris currently resides in East Haven.
