Attorney Walsh devoted his practice to public sector grievance and interest arbitration, negotiating collective bargaining and pension agreements, all areas of employment law including drafting employment contracts, severance agreements, non-competition agreements and employee handbooks as well as workers’ compensation matters. His areas of expertise include the representation of unionized employees, with a specific focus on serving the needs of law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services employees, as well as private sector employers and employees. Attorney Walsh's unique combination of clients allows him to view issues from both the labor and management perspective, helping him to obtain the most effective results for his clients.
In addition to labor and employment counseling to his clients, Attorney Walsh regularly litigated and arbitrated legal issues that could not be resolved, including discrimination cases involving race, sex, and pregnancy, wage and hour claims, non-competition/non-solicitation agreements, Family Medical Leave claims, discharge claims and workers compensation injuries. He regularly practiced before the State of Connecticut Department of Labor, Board of Mediation and Arbitration, Board of Labor Relations, the American Arbitration Association, Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission as well as state and federal courts in Connecticut.
Attorney Walsh was a founding member and partner at Licari, Walsh & Sklaver, LLC, practicing law at his firm for twenty-four years. When his former partner, Gary Sklaver, retired in 2023, Walsh joined Fasano, Ippolito, Lee & Florentine as an of counsel attorney while his other former partner, Attorney Licari, joined the firm full-time.
Colloquially known as Chip, Walsh currently lives in Guilford and enjoys an active home life with his wife, Kim and their two children. Chip has also volunteered his time coaching youth soccer and hockey as well as sitting as a Board Member for both the Soccer Club of Guilford and West Haven Youth Hockey.
